OCCUPATION: Pine Run, OH Newspaper article; ; ; ; Machinist, manufacturer of
steam engines, operated shingle mill, made saw mill parts, operated saw mill,
manufactured farm implements and did equipment repair in Ashtabula, OH prior to
1865 and Clio, MI after 1865.

BURIAL: Pine Run, MI cemetery; ; ; ; William G. Zickgraf visited the cemetery
in 1992 and inspected the tombstone.

BIOGRAPHY: Interview with Lois Ridley of Clio, MI; 1994; ; ; ; West of the cor-
ners on the north side of the road, stood the foundry and machine shop of
William Tinker & Son, who came to the locality in 1865, they were first class
mechanics who could make almost anything that could be fashioned from iron,
steel or wood, at one time they made shingles and cheese boxes, he built a
track & cart to bring the logs to the second floor for sawing, William was
6'7".

His home still stands on the west side of Saginaw Road just two blocks south of
the Vienna Road corner in Pine Run, MI, One group of Tinkers came around Lake
Ontario to Michigan and another group of Tinkers came around Lake Ontario to
Ohio.
