Asa Miller made all three runs for land into Oklahoma. When he and Sophronia Jane made the run in a pring wagon in 1893, Orpha Miller who was three yers old then, was with her parents.
In the first opening in Oklahoma, Asa didn't get any land. In the second run he staked a claim at a location on the prairie which is now the town of Enid. The next day, he sold his claim for $15.00. The bank now stands on that spot.
The third run is when he staked a claim on 160 acres of land near Okeane, Oklahoma.
